In Ship Management we consistently try to create a work culture capable of taking our safety performance to a higher level. For that purpose we have further developed our organisation, such as by providing enhanced technical and marine superintendence capacities within the various groups (Fleets), strengthening of our own cadet and training programmes as well as by implementation of a defined key performance indicator programme. Each programme has been designed for different purposes, mainly however, to get everyone think safety.
Fleet Management
Each Fleet is responsible for up to 20 vessels. Within the Fleets, technical and marine superintendents represent the main links between the ships and the office. Our superintendents have the overall responsibility for support, supervision and management and are, together with the masters and ship operators, in the frontline positions for daily running of our ships.
The fleets' purchasing and logistic groups are responsible for the extensive flow of goods and services requiered to keep the ships operational "Around the World - Around the Clock".
Technical and marine managers within each Fleet ensure sharing of experience and consistency in development of ship performance.
Crewing
We employ North West European and Philippine officers and crew on all our vessels. Complementing our crewing offices, we run our own cadet programme and in-house training academy.
Technology Management
In addition to monitoring day-to-day activities, our ambition is to be leading within machinery, electro and automation, structure, material protection and planned maintenance.
Risk and QHSE Management
Risk assessment associated to tasks and processes is important when it comes to our way of business doing. The same goes for QHSE management. Our main objective is to prevent incidents and accidents.
Planning and Control
Control of management processes, budget and training programmes for shore personnel are important staff functions.
Corporate Procurement
Corporate procurement is responsible for the supplier portfolio. Our strategy is to develop long term contracts and close following up with key suppliers through advanced contract mechanisms that ensure constant improvement providing quality and added value to our ships and operation.
