The Odfjell Cadet Programme was initiated in cooperation with the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) in line with our Company’s vision to educate qualified marine officers for our chemical tanker business.
We offer this programme to deserving relatives of any crewmember who has above average performance evaluation and has gained required length of service for Odfjell in accordance with approved guidelines and procedures.
Odfjell scholars have access to the following benefits in addition to their scholarship. The “2-1-1 Programme” consists of two years at school, one year on board an Odfjell vessel for training, for so to return to school for the fourth year prior to graduation:
• Scholarship
• Free board and lodging
• Free trainings
• Safe environment and proper discipline
• Allowances while on board for one year shipboard training
• Assured ship board training
• Assured job upon graduation
Odfjell is committed to developing qualified merchant marine officers for the future. To achieve this goal, we shall therefore:
• Enrol cadets into the Odfjell Career and Competence Management Programme
• Ensure swift promotions based on on board performance and recommendations as well as licensure examination results
• Ensure cadet development by monitoring competencies and specialization.
• Provide future opportunities for employment on shore at Odfjell terminals and offices.
