Odfjell Terminals (Dalian) Ltd – OTD – is a joint venture between Odfjell SE and Dalian Port (PDA) Company Ltd, Dalian, China.
In 2007 the terminal successfully completed a relocation and expansion to Dalian New Port, which is located east of Dalian Bay, 10 kilometres from Dalian Development Zone. Dalian New Port is one of the largest mineral oil products and liquid chemical transshipment hubs in North-East Asia.
The terminal is designed and built using advanced technology, providing the industry with a safe and efficient alternative for storage and transshipment of both hazardous and non-hazardous liquid products.
OTD consists of 51 tanks with a total capacity of close to 120 000 cbm. Tank sizes vary from 650 to 5 000 cbm. There are ten stainless steel tanks at the terminal, ranging in size from 650 to 2 800 cbm.
OTD can be accessed via water, rail and road. To accommodate sea-going tankers, there are four berths. The maximum draft at the terminal is 46,2 ft.
The terminal plays an important role in China’s export of liquid bulk chemicals. A significant amount of product is shipped from the Chinese hinterland into OTD by rail tank cars. To accommodate these product flows, OTD is equipped with a comprehensive railcar handling infrastructure where a total number of 120 rail tank cars can be handled simultaneously.
