While far from home, our crew onboard Bow Trident found a special way to celebrate Father’s Day with a thoughtful surprise prepared for the dads onboard.

“Carrying the scent of salt and diesel and the weathered hands of hard work, being both a seafarer and a father means having a heart tethered to both sea and home. His presence is deeply connected to the ocean yet firmly anchored to his family, where his love truly resides.

This Father’s Day, non-parent crew of Bow Trident surprised the fathers onboard with spa treatments, games and a special Father’s Night, a thoughtful reminder that not only mothers need pampering, but a father deserves it too.

Bursts of laughter, wide smiles and shared stories echoed across the ship as they enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime treat. Many are caught off guard when they are presented with video greetings from their families back home. Most of the fathers grew emotional while listening that their efforts and sacrifices had not gone unnoticed.

Our father-crew members, expressing their gratitude for the thoughtful celebration, especially towards the cadets who’ve done the bulk of the work.

To treat a father isn’t always the norm. But treating them, even once, brings to mind that behind every quiet strength lies a quiet kind of heroism. Happy Father’s Day!”
