Bergen Chamber's annual conference gathers 600 leaders from business, politics and education. Sustainability was key focus this year, and Kristian Mørch was invited to share how Odfjell contributes in reaching UN's sustainability goals.
Mørch highlighted Odfjell's responsibility to contribute to healthy societies and healthy oceans.
"We have a responsibility for our employees, our customers and our investors. We have a responsibility to care for the environment and reduce our footprints, locally and globally. Continuous improvement is our 'License to operate', and the only way we can continue to grow is if we run the company in a safe and sustainable way."

Headlined 'Acting today for a better tomorrow', Mørch highlighted some of the many ongoing sustainability initiatives, and important success factors:
"We must run our industry and our operations with deep respect for the oceans as an essential global resource. The oceans are our workplace. We transport some of the most hazardous chemicals through some of the world's most fragile areas, in all weather conditions. This demands that we think and act safety and sustainability in all our operations, 24/7."
"Sustainability is more than environment alone. We cannot grow in a society that doesn't work, and we know that sustainability efforts often have positive effects - also financially. Green efforts do not lead to red numbers."
