The U.S. Coast Guard’s Amver Program is an example of international emergency and humanitarian cooperation, and the awards a way of recognizing shipowners, crew and operators for their commitment to safety; the men and women that operate the global fleet and assist people in distress at sea, anywhere in the world.
Embraced by the international merchant industry, the program has a global reach, and it is estimated that more than 2800 lives have been saved by Amver-participating ships since year 2000.
The award ceremony took place at the US Ambassador’s residence in Oslo during Nor-Shipping. Technical Managers Bernt Lie-Berland and Bård Lysen accepted the awards on behalf of Odfjell.
