Our Chempool 25 and MR pool partner Navig8 has announced that it will change its name to Chemical Tankers Inc. This will affect several of the pool vessels.

The change is implemented to “better reflect the company’s standing as an independent owner and manager of chemical tankers”, and follows the recent sale of Navig8’s stake in CTI to funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management.

The name change affects the following pool vessels:

CHEMPOOL 25:
Navig8 Spark
Navig8 Stellar
Navig8 Sky
Navig8 Spica

MR POOL:
Navig8 Turquoise
Navig8 Tanzanite
Navig8 Topaz
Navig8 Tourmaline
Navig8 Victoria
Navig8 Violette

The pre-fix of these ships will be changed to CTI (CTI Spark, CTI Stellar etc.) and a new green color will be painted on the hull and funnel – same as the CTI Topaz:

It will be quite an extensive job to change the color of 32 chemical tankers, so this will be rolled out over the coming quarters. For more information, see Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc.
