Taking on the challenge: Vegard Marken and the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon

People & Careers | 14.11.2025

The work-life balance can be tricky for anyone. But what happens when you decide to train for the world's toughest triathlon—all while juggling a full-time job, wife, house, two kids under three, and a dog?

Fleet Performance Analyst Vegard Marken decided to find out, and signed up for the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon. At work, he focused on optimizing our fleet. At home, he focused on optimizing his own endurance.

In this mini-documentary, Vegard shares the story about why he took on this Herculean challenge, how he prepared, and why having a strong support crew – at home, at the race, and at work—made all the difference.

Only 160 of the best athletes earn the right to finish the race by climbing to the top of Mount Gaustad. Did he make it?
