Bow Fitness: Healthy aging for the years ahead

Internal News | 01.10.2026

Healthy aging starts long before we grow older. The habits we build today can influence how well we move, feel, and function in the years ahead.

Whether you're working onboard or ashore, taking care of your long-term health comes back to the basics: move regularly, eat well, get enough rest, stay connected, and keep up with your health.

Small habits that add up

Healthy aging doesn't require major lifestyle changes. Simple choices made consistently can support both your physical and mental well-being over time.

  • Keep moving. Exercise regularly and break up long periods of sitting whenever possible.

  • Eat well. Choose balanced meals, include fruits and vegetables, and stay hydrated.

  • Prioritize rest. Quality sleep supports physical recovery, energy, and concentration.

  • Stay connected. Make time for family, friends, and colleagues.

  • Manage stress. Find healthy ways to relax and recharge.

  • Keep up with your health. Regular check-ups and recommended screenings can help identify potential concerns early.

Regardless if you're in the office, or at home, the goal is to find healthy habits that work with your routine and that you can maintain over time.

Workout of the month

Sit-to-stand challenge

The sit-to-stand is a simple exercise that helps strengthen the legs while supporting balance and everyday mobility. All you need is a sturdy chair.

  1. Sit with your feet flat on the floor.

  2. Stand up slowly and in control.

  3. Lower yourself back into the chair.

  4. Repeat 10 times.

Try 3 sets of 10 repetitions, 3 times per week, adjusting the number of repetitions to your ability and comfort level.

Health tip of the month

Staying active doesn't always require a dedicated workout. Walking, stretching, taking the stairs, and simply spending less time sitting all count.

The choices you make today can support how you move and feel tomorrow. Start small, stay consistent, and keep building from there.

Keep moving, stay connected, and invest in your health for the years ahead.
