A day of learning and support
The program featured two simultaneous sessions designed to support both seafarers and their families. A Safety Workshop, facilitated by Capt. Ruffy Sabandal was attended by 22 crew members. At the same time, families participated in a workshop led by invited speaker Mr. Joey Alesna, titled “Safe Harbor: Strengthening the Hearts that Wait at Home.” The session created a space for families to reflect, connect, and gain insights on supporting their loved ones in maritime careers.
Honoring a remarkable milestone
A key highlight of the event was the recognition of Pumpman Stanley Antoque for his 25 years of dedicated service with Odfjell.
He began his journey on March 14, 2000, onboard Bow Jubail as a “Boy” and steadily built a career marked by reliability and excellence. He later took on the role of Pumpman in 2015 and most recently served onboard Bow Sky, where he signed off at the end of February.
His wife, Mrs. Marissa Antoque, was also acknowledged for her unwavering support throughout his journey.
Fun, talent, and togetherness
The afternoon portion of the event shifted to celebration and entertainment. Crew members and their families enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including individual and group games, as well as raffle draws that kept the energy high throughout the program.
Special intermission numbers added to the festive atmosphere, featuring a song performance by Emmanuel Serenio (son of MPT Bsn Fiorelan Serenio), a song number by Alyeza Mae Antoque (daughter of awardee Pmp Stanley Antoque), and a lively dance performance by NSA Cadets Batch 29.
A 45-minute magician performance also delighted both children and adults, bringing laughter and excitement to the crowd.
Participants who embraced the nautical-themed dress code brought extra color and excitement to the event, with standout outfits receiving special prizes.
The event was also supported by external partners, including Ship Money and MHIBI, Odfjell’s medical insurance partner, who set up booths for participants. Food carts were available throughout the day, adding to the enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere.
Strengthening the Odfjell community
Crew and Family Day 2026 in Davao highlighted the importance of fostering strong connections not only among crew members but also with the families who support them. Through learning, recognition, and shared experiences, the event reinforced Odfjell’s commitment to building a supportive and united community both at sea and at home.
