FIL Cadetship Program welcomes 65 aspiring seafarers

Internal News | 04.08.2026

Odfjell recently marked another milestone in its FIL Cadetship Program as 65 cadets from maritime schools in Davao, Cebu, and Batangas officially began their journey with the company.

At Davao Merchant Marine Academy, 20 cadets took part in the MOA signing, company orientation, and Odfjell Pinning Ceremony. A highlight of the event was a testimonial from fourth-year Engine Cadet Payla Uela, who shared her shipboard experience onboard Bow Sirius and encouraged the incoming cadets as they prepared for their own careers at sea.

Meanwhile, in Manila, 45 cadets from the University of Cebu – Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Campus and Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas attended orientation sessions led by General Manager Agnes Enesio together with members of the Crewing team. They also participated in discussions on cadetship conduct, compliance, training book monitoring, and expectations before joining their assigned vessels.

The cadets also attended Odfjell's regular Pre-Joining Briefing, giving them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with company policies and requirements while gaining a better understanding of what to expect before joining their vessels.

By providing structured guidance from the very beginning, Odfjell continues to support the development of competent maritime professionals and prepare cadets for successful careers at sea.
