“Over the past few years, I’ve watched our industry change – and I’m proud to be part of it,” Lise says.
“It might just sound like a number, but to me it’s something much bigger. It’s progress. It’s courage. It’s doors opening. It’s proof that more of us are not only choosing this path – but truly finding our place at sea.”
Lise became Odfjell’s first female captain in 2023. Since then, she has also shared her experiences and insights into life at sea, contributing to Odfjell’s and the wider industry’s efforts to introduce maritime careers to the next generation.
Seeing women represented across every department aboard Bow Sky is a welcome change from Lise’s earlier years at sea and another sign of more women choosing maritime careers.
