Safety of our people
Our top priority remains the safety and well-being of our people. All crew on board and colleagues ashore are safe.
Our team in Dubai, along with their families, continue to follow guidance from Odfjell and local authorities while managing a tense situation. They are assessing safety conditions continuously, supported by close contact with teams in Bergen and Manila.
On board, the situation is stable but challenging. To support well-being, crews remain active with daily routines, maintenance work, and social activities, while staying closely connected with family and friends. Internet bandwidth has been increased to facilitate communication.
Vessel and operational status
The crew on Bow Saga remains safe and in good condition under the circumstances. Daily all-crew meetings continue, supported by Odfjell teams. Senior management, including CEO Harald Fotland and Chair Laurence Odfjell, have joined sessions to provide updates, answer questions, and offer support.
TC vessels Bow Victory, Bow Lion, and Bow Mercury remain supported by Synergy Ship Management. Odfjell maintains daily dialogue with vessel owners and managers regarding status and next steps.
Given the current security situation, transit through the Strait of Hormuz is not considered a viable option, and no Odfjell vessels will pass through the strait until it is deemed safe. Vessels are being rerouted accordingly.
Ongoing response and coordination
Odfjell’s contingency task force, led by CEO Harald Fotland, continues to meet daily to monitor developments and coordinate actions. Colleagues across Tankers, Ship Management, and Corporate functions are working closely together on operational follow-up, scenario planning, and commercial adjustments.
Our commercial team remains actively engaged, responding to market developments and operational constraints as the situation evolves.
The situation remains locked and highly uncertain. We will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates when there are material changes.
