11 colleagues were recognized for reaching 25 and 40 years of service at Odfjell during a celebratory gathering in Bergen on May 8, 2025. The evening was filled with laughter, reflection, and stories from years gone by—but above all, heartfelt appreciation. Chair Laurence W. Odfjell presented the awards, sharing personal anecdotes and recognizing each recipient for their individual contributions.
Honoring experience and loyalty
In his welcome speech, Harald Fotland reflected on the journey Odfjell has taken over the past decades—a journey shaped by the contributions of those present. From the early days of Baytank in Houston to company-wide transformations in safety, digitalization, and decarbonization, the honorees have been at the heart of the company’s evolution.
"With more than 25, and in some cases 40, years of experience, it’s clear your dedication and insight have been invaluable."
"You are the experts in your field—and we generally follow your advice," Harald said.
Reflections on the value of long tenure
The evening wrapped up with a light and heartfelt speech by CFO Terje Iversen. Blending humor with appreciation, he shared a few reflections on the value of long tenure — not just in years served, but in the stories, connections, and everyday moments that have shaped life at Odfjell.
"You have helped build something solid and lasting, while also playing a part in lifting the company into the future. The rest of us have a lot to thank you for.
At the same time, tonight is a reminder of the community we share. It’s in moments like these — with laughter around the tables and stories from years past — that we’re reminded just how good it is to work together."
