Krister Bendiksen, Manager Strategic Procurement, and Jan Arne Opedal, Manager Projects, received the award on behalf of the company.
“We were honored to welcome Krister Bendiksen and Jan Arne Opedal from Odfjell SE. In recognition of our almost 14-year partnership and Odfjell’s commitment to decarbonization and green shipping, we were proud to present them with a special award,” the Becker team shared.
“Odfjell has been a pioneer in embracing the Becker Mewis Duct® - starting with the 37K dwt chemical tanker Bow Flora in 2011. Today, 42 vessels in their fleet benefit from our energy-saving solutions, driving us to keep innovating for a greener future.”
One recent highlight of our collaboration with Becker is the ongoing work on Bow Explorer. Through a strategic partnership between Becker and Nakashima Propeller, we have ordered a complete retrofit propulsion package which consists of a Nakashima propeller and a Becker Mewis Duct.
The replacement is required due to damage to the original propeller, with the implementation planned for the Special Survey in 2025. This project aims to maximize power savings and efficiency, furthering Odfjell’s commitment to operational efficiency and sustainable practices.
"Becker Marine Systems’ energy-saving solutions help us improve the efficiency of our vessels,” said Jan Opedal. “This recognition is an inspiring reminder of the strong partnership we have built over time. It highlights our shared commitment to making shipping more sustainable and efficient.”
