Developed by the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB) and maritime HR specialist TURTLE, the toolkit was launched on June 25 and provides shipping companies with a practical framework to identify and manage recruitment fee risks across their operations and supply chains.
As a member of the Action Group on Seafarer Recruitment Fees, an IHRB-convened coalition of maritime stakeholders working to eliminate recruitment fees, Odfjell has been actively involved in advancing responsible recruitment.
Over the past several months, OPI President and General Manager Agnes Enesio and Chief Sustainability Officer Øistein Jensen have participated in industry discussions focused on strengthening ethical recruitment practices and supporting collective action across the sector.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to eliminate illegal recruitment fees and promote fair, transparent recruitment practices for seafarers worldwide.
