Odfjell Recognized as a Climate Leader for the second consecutive year

For the second year in a row, Odfjell has been included in the Financial Times and Statista’s list of Europe’s Climate Leaders. The ranking highlights companies across Europe that have achieved the greatest reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity between 2018 and 2023.

Odfjell’s inclusion for the second consecutive year reflects our continued focus on emissions reductions, transparency, and alignment with international standards such as the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project).

“Our goal is clear: reduce our impact and operate more sustainably across all areas of the business,” said Øistein Jensen, Chief Sustainability Officer. “This recognition confirms that we are on the right path—and that long-term, consistent efforts pay off. We remain focused on reducing our environmental footprint and leading by example.”

Odfjell’s decarbonization strategy focuses on technical upgrades, operational efficiency, fuel improvements, and collaboration across the maritime value chain. As of 2023, Odfjell had reduced its carbon intensity by 51% compared to the IMO 2008 baseline.
