Kjærvik began his career at Christiana Bank (now Nordea) and included several senior management roles. Notably, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Enterprise Risk & Group Treasurer at Aker Kværner before moving to A.P. Møller-Mærsk as Head of Group Finance & Risk Management. He also served as interim Treasurer for GE Energy during its NYSE listing from 2022 to 2023. Currently, Kjærvik holds board positions at Höegh Autoliners and Seadrill.
“We are pleased to welcome Jan Kjærvik to the Board of Directors. In its 110th year, our company is delivering strong results in the current cycle, but in a volatile world we need to continue to build resilience and strength for the long term. Jan’s broad experience and strategic thinking will be most valuable in this work,” Chair Laurence Odfjell said.
Kjærvik succeeds Nils Petter Dyvik, who has been a member of Odfjell's Board since 2020.
“I want to thank Nils Petter for his contributions during his years with us, he contributed to the turnaround of Odfjell,” Laurence said.
