Tankpit R became operational in March 2025. It adds a significant amount of new capacity (ten extra tanks and 27.500 cbm) and increases the terminal’s total storage by more than 6%. The project was completed safely and on schedule, just 15 months after construction began, on time and on budget.
“Tankpit R further strengthens Odfjell and NNOAT's ability to offer flexible, high-quality storage in a key logistics hub,” says Adrian Lenning, Managing Director Terminals at Odfjell. “It reflects the way we grow our Terminals business: focused, stone-by-stone, and in close partnership with our customers.”
The expansion supports a long-term growth plan for NNOAT. Since 2018, the terminal has increased its total capacity by more than 40%—a result of steady investment and strong local partnerships. Located in the heart of Europe’s largest chemical cluster, the Port of Antwerp, NNOAT plays a central role in Odfjell’s global terminal strategy and supports efficient trade in essential and emerging chemical products.

Delivering steady, long-term growth
Tankpit R is the latest in a series of developments at NNOAT. In late 2023, Tankpit U added fully automated capacity to the terminal. Another project—Tankpit Q—is already underway and expected to be completed in the last quarter of 2025.
Once that is in place, the terminal’s total capacity will have grown by nearly half in just seven years, up to 500,000 cbm in total. Today, NNOAT is a modern, high-capacity terminal with hundreds of tanks, multiple deep-sea and barge berths, and the infrastructure needed to handle a wide range of chemical products safely and efficiently.
Odfjell is a 25% partner in NNOAT and continues to support its long-term growth as part of our broader terminal portfolio.
