Service awards to loyal seafarers

Sixteen colleagues were awarded for more than 25 years of service at an award ceremony in Manila.

 

Chief Technical Officer Torger Trige, VP Maritime Personnel Svend Foyn-Bruun and Odfjell Philippines, Inc. General Manager Captain Remigio Zamora presented the plaque and gold watch to the following awardees:

Chief Cook Nilo Albento joined Odfjell as an Engine Cadet on board Bow Queen in February 1993. He also sailed on board NCC Najran, NCC Asir, and Bow Spring Old. Bow Cecil was the most recent ship this determined crew boarded.

Bosun Resurricion Arada first sailed with Odfjell as an Ordinary Seaman on board Bow Mate. He also served as crew on board Bow Pilot, Bow Apollo and Old Antisana. His recent vessels include Bow Lind and Bow Architect.

Chief Officer Neleo Cayabyab started his Odfjell career in December 1995 as an Ordinary Seaman on board Bow Panther. He also sailed on board Bow Lancer, Bow Heron and Bow Asia. He was promoted to Chief Officer in 2015 and has since continued to be a dependable leader on board. His recent vessels include Bow Star and Bow Elm.

Chief Cook Jimmy Chavez boarded his first Odfjell vessel, Bow Petros, in May 1995. He also served as crew on Bow Heron, Bow Prima and NCC Yamamah, and recently, on board Bow Cecil and Bow Tribute.

Electrician Regin Fernandez boarded his first Odfjell vessel, Tama Caribbean, in June 1997. He also served Bow Gorgonilla, Bow Apollo and Bow Hunter during the early years of his career. His disembarkation from Bow Star in February marked the beginning of his retirement from seafaring.

Motor Man Anthony Gallos started in Odfjell in 1995 as an Engine Cadet on board Bow Princess. He served as crew on board Bow Saphir, NCC Najran and NCC Madinah. This cooperative crewmember’s recent vessels include supersegregators Bow Odyssey and Bow Orion.

Fitter Emeraldo Guinto joined Odfjell as a Fitter in December 1995. This hardworking seafarer had boarded Bow Sun Old, Bow Sea Old and NCC Narjan, and very recently, Bow Cardinal and Bow Trajectory.

Bosun Edwin Gumaya started in Odfjell as a Deck Cadet on board Bow Petros in 1995. He has sailed on Bow Lancer, NCC Jouf and Bow Power, and has consistently shown professionalism on board.

Able Seaman Rolly Jaena boarded his first Odfjell vessel, Bow Panther, in 1995 as a Deck Cadet. This devoted seafarer also served as crew on board Bow Eagle, NCC Jizan and Bow Pioneer Old.

Motor Man Edgardo Laguda began working at Odfjell in 1996 as a Motor Man on board NCC Jouf. He also sailed on board NCC Jubail, Bow Chain Old and Bow Fertility, and recently, on Bow Triumph and Bow Elm.

Motor Man Jess Lahip boarded his first Odfjell vessel, Bow Leopard, as a Motor Man. This dedicated seafarer has also served as crew on board Bow Lancer, Bow Lion and NCC Mekka.

Motor Man Jose Teddy Lamparero started in Odfjell in February 1993 as an Engine Cadet. He sailed on board NCC Najran, NCC Air and Bow Spring Old, and very recently, Bow Cecil.

Fourth Engineer Dennis Malia joined Odfjell in December 1995 as a Wiper on board Universal Apollo. He also served as crew on board Old Antisana, Bow Gorgonilla and Bow Eagle, and recently, on board Bow Excellence.

Second Officer Ariel Ong Chung started in Odfjell in July 1995 as a Deck Cadet on board Bow Viking Old. This responsible seafarer also sailed on Bow Gorgonilla, Bow Antisana and NCC Jizan.

Second Officer Maximiano Tangpos joined Odfjell in April 1990 as a Third Officer on board Bow Lion. This hardworking officer's previous vessels include Bow Fighter, Bow Transporter and Bow Fraternity.

Captain Rofil Villamero started his Odfjell career in December 1995 as an Able Seaman on board Bow Transporter. His previous vessels include Bow Fighter, Bow Lion, and Bow Panther. In March 2009, he commanded his first vessel as Captain, Bow Fraternity, and has since been one of the most committed leaders on board.
